FAQ:
Is Georgia GoDrive Traffic School® state-approved?
Yes. We are certified and regulated by the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Regulatory Compliance Division to provide Certified Driver Improvement programs.
Clinic License #DI200097
Can I take this course to get my license reinstated or reduce points?
Yes, In many cases. If you have points on your Georgia driver’s license, you are eligible to take this course once every five years to remove up to seven (7) points. After successful completion, you must submit your certificate to DDS to request the reduction. Check with DDS first, as reinstatement requirements are at their discretion and are not guaranteed.
Can this course help with a suspended license or court order?
Yes, if the court or DDS allows it. Our 6-hour Defensive Driving Course is accepted for license reinstatement, court-ordered requirements, and probation compliance. You are responsible for confirming whether your court or DDS officer will accept the course before registering.
What happens if I arrive late or leave early?
Attendance rules are strictly enforced by the instructor and clinic in accordance with state regulations. You must attend the entire course without interruption. Arriving late by a minute or leaving early will prevent you from receiving credit for the class. If this occurs, you may be required to reschedule and complete the course within 60 days in order to finish the course without additional cost.
What is the cost of the 6-hour course?
The fee is $95, which is the official, non-negotiable rate set by DDS for all licensed schools in Georgia. This ensures fairness and consistency statewide. You may come across courses advertised at unusually low prices. While they can seem appealing, it’s important to be cautious. To avoid delays or complications, always make sure the course you choose is State-approved and fully compliant with Georgia DDS standards.
Do I have to keep my camera on during online classes?
Yes. For online courses, your camera must remain on at all times to verify your attendance and engagement. Turning off your camera, connectivity issues, or attempting to bypass this rule will result in dismissal and forfeiture of your certificate in most cases.
Will this course help lower my car insurance?
Yes, in many cases, insurance companies are required under O.C.G.A. §33-9-42 to provide a premium discount to eligible individuals who complete a DDS certified Defensive Driving Course. However, it’s important to check with your insurance provider first, as discounts are not guaranteed and may vary. In most cases, the minimum discount is set at 10%, though some insurers may or may not choose to offer a higher discount depending on their policies.
